Liam Grant

Liam was called to the Bar in 2012 and spent the first decade of his legal career practicing in insurance defense. He joined Magnus Law in 2026 as a litigation associate. His practice focuses mainly on civil litigation but also includes estate and employment claims.

Liam has extensive courtroom experience, including applications, petitions, and lengthy trials. He has developed a reputation for having the Court reject expert opinion following an effective cross-examination, and securing findings of poor credibility against opposing parties.

Liam’s experience in trial includes:

• Tendering competing expert opinion evidence and impugning opposing experts through effective cross-examination;
• Jury trials;
• Credibility defenses and negative credibility findings against opposing parties; and
• Costs decisions following success at trial.

Liam’s experience in employment claims includes:

• Wrongful termination claims;
• Discrimination claims;
• Claims for failure to accommodate;
• Claims for inadequate severance.

Liam has experience in personal injury and insurance coverage claims, employment claims, estate litigation, human rights complaints, claims concerning real property, and shareholder/corporate litigation.

When Liam is not busy working, he enjoys reading, cooking, martial arts, and tabletop games.
